This year 2021 marks the 21st. year Bell Island Update Tourist Info. has independently Marketed & Promoted Bell Island to the Tourist Industry

Witnessing & Experiencing Bell Island Grow & Expand over the years has been a pleasure

Your Tour actually begins before the Ferry docks. You see Seasonal Waterfall cascading down the rugged cliff surface.  Notices the reddish color of Iron-Ore embedded in the cliff that put Bell Island on the map and makes it look even more adventurous the closer you get. Unfortunately it drew the attention of a German Sub resulting is ships being sunk of Lance Cove Beach. A few meters from shore at low tide the remains of the Ships are clearly visible.  We are listed as one of the top ten places in the world for cold-water diving. Divers gather regularly. BBQ pits/ RV& Camping Seadoo/ Sail Boating/ Jet Skiing/ Water Skiing/ Kayaking off Kelly’s Island & Little Bell Island.  Visit 18th.Century Grave site across from the Grotto, (Outdoor Stations of the Cross).During our summer at times, Icebergs sculptured by nature dot the ocean like floating monuments to be viewed up close or from afar.

The more adventurous can Explore Grebes Nest a  Man Made Tunnel that leads onto a secluded Black Sand Beach, great for camping. Invigorating Cave Exploration and Sandy Beaches can be enjoyed at various locations, Some are accessible by boat only.  Visit Our Light House & Café, View the Puffins basking in the sun, Whales feeding. Fact: Ms. Isabel Brazil is the only recorded person to swim from Portugal Cove to     Bell Island in 1977  From anywhere in St. John’s take Portugal Cove Road to Portugal Cove. Two ferries run daily. Within twenty minutes you are on Bell Island, Note the reddish color of Iron-Ore embedded in the cliff that put Bell Island on the map but unfortunately drew attention from a German sub during WW2. Minutes before the ferry docks you are offered a breath taking view. Seasonal waterfalls cascading down the rugged cliff surface making the Island look even more adventurous the closer you get. As you ascend Beach Hill to the right is a lone Grave site & Bell Island Crest. To the left is Harry Hibb's Lookout and two big guns that were active during WW 2. (Bell Island was one place in North America to be attacked resulting in Iron-Ore cargo ships torpedoed and the loss of lives just off Lance Cove Beach). Visit Seamen’s Memorial.
